Some of my favorites

I thought I would show you a few of my favorite things from the Twelve Days of Christmas in July sale on Artfire that's going on now. Remember, I said a few. There are so many things available and so many different types of sales from BOGO to discounts to free shipping. You should really try and beat the heat by getting a little bit of Christmas spirit early.
Here's a beautiful necklace by my friend Emily of Exqusite Studios. http://www.artfire.com/users/ExquisiteStudios

This toddler purse is the perfect gift for the little miss in your life. It's perfect for the little girl who wants to take her posessions with her. It's designed and created by VaBchQuilter.http://www.artfire.com/users/vabeachquilter

The final, but by no means least favorite in this list are these cool glow in the dark Christmas ornaments by BAKidagain. this is only one of 1000 ornament designs available, including many different designs honoring our military men and women. http://www.artfire.com/users/BAKidagain

This weeks featured guild studio

is jYOUlry http://www.artfire.com/users/jYoulry a studio that makes personalized photo jewelry pieces. They are so cool!! I just might have to get something that has my adorable little grandsons picture on it. This would be a great idea for mom or grandma. You could do a charm bracelet with all the kids or grandkids-or one that showed a child growing up over the years. You are limited only by your imagination.Besides that, there is a clearance coupon you can use for some of her jewelry.
jYOUlry was started by a work at home mom, Lisa, who had to close her firm when her family relocated to Panama. She still needed to create and she wanted to creat something unique and affordable in this economy. It didn't take to long for her line of custom designed photo jewelry to come into being.
So, with Mothers Day drawing close, check out her shop and I bet you will find a cool gift.

Madmoravian is the featured studio this week

Madmoravian is the shopswithlessthan(10)sales guild's featured studio this week. http://www.artfire.com/users/madmoravian It's a cool studio with everything from chainmaille to woodworking pieces to stained glass.
Scott has been working with wood for about 20 years and his experince shows in his attention to detail. Here's a picture of one of his beautiful wood bottle stoppers. He also makes really cool wood pens, to, but you have to click the shop link to see those.

One of the things that I think is the coolest and most unique in his shop is this chainmaille hat band for a cowboy hat. since Scott is from Texas, it makes perfect sense to me that he would create something like that.

There is a lot of cool chanimaille jewelry for guys in Scott's studio, so if that special guy in your life has a birthday or something coming up, you should really stop by this studio. Besides, Scott has a special sale going on whild he is the featured studio. If you use the coupon code GUILDFEATURED, you will get 20% off your purchase. So, what are you waiting for?

This week's featured seller

from the AFshopswithlessthan(10) guild is LiquidAmbar http://www.artfire.com/users/liquidambar This is a husband and wife team and in their studio bio, they say sometimes the kids, all working together. It's so good to see kids taking an interest in creating handmade things. That way, traditions won't be lost to the compter age. Their creations are totally cool and unique. Jewelry made from clay and glass-I love that-and fused glass-love that, too. They also have some beautiful pottery. As with most handmade items, these are all one of a kind.

Located in gorgeous NC, they have a wealth of inspiration from nature and it shows, especially in their pottery which is coiled or slab built.

Here are a couple of pictures of things that I love in their studio. It really would be worth your time to click the link and visit their studio.

The featured studio this week

from the Artfire ShopswithLessthan10(sales) Guild is On Pens and Needles http://www.artfire.com/users/onpensandneedles This is a truly wonderful studio with many surprising things in it and each and every one is handmade.

Jan and Don are a married, retired couple. Jan is a retired nurse and Don is retired from the Navy. Now they are free to spend time on their hobbies. Don makes pens and things from wood and other things-like Corian-and Jan creates wonderful embroidered baby blankets.

I am deeply impressed that Don received the 1st Place Blue Ribbon and Judges Award of Merit at the 2009 Los Angeles County Fair for his entry of the Rose window of Notre Dame scrolled (that's done with a saw) out of Corian the countertop stuff. Now that's artistry for sure!!

Here's a picture of it . Isn't that GRAND?!

Don creates the wooden pens and toys they sell.

Jan creates one of a kind, custom baby blankets that are adorable and other one of a kind things.
I love this little Hooded Bath Towel with the yellow duck ribbon trim. How much cuter can you get for bathtime than yellow ducks?

So click on their studio link and go see their studio on Artfire. It will be worth it.

Spotlight on Va Beach Quilter

The Spotlight studio this week is Va Beach Quilter. You can find her here. http://www.artfire.com/users/vabeachquilter

Several relatives on my mom's side of the family were quilters, so I appreciate the art of quilting and it is an art. Kim's work is no exception to this statement. Not only does she have quilts, but a wonderful mix of quilted items from totes and backbacks to table runners and place mats. In fact, when I have the money, she's going to do a custom quilt for me.

I love the colors and style of these placemats.

As a reformed (trying to reform, anyhow) purse collector, I am in love with the selection of quilted purses she has in her studio. Loving the color blue and flowers, of course this is my favorite purse from her studio.
